There’s another new award for genre literature on the block, with the Imaginarium Convention holding its inaugural Imadjinn Awards for independent books. The awards caught my eye, as it’s always interesting to see how the fiction world continues to be impacted by the rise of self-publishing.

The Imadjinns are awarded to Small Press and Independently published authors. This Inaugural year will introduce the world to these awards. Nominations are open to Small Presses, who can nominate up to 3 titles per category that they published in 2015 and to independent authors who can nominate up to 1 title of their own that was self-published in 2015. A Professional Jury (members to be announced at a later date) will narrow the field down to 8-10 titles per category and voting will be done by the Imaginarium Academy. The Awards will be handed out at the Awards Banquet on Saturday October 8th, 2016.
Individuals can not nominate their own title unless they published it themselves. Please contact your publishing house and recommend your title for nomination and encourage them to nominate.
